Welcome, Referee
You are the backbone of fair competition in TackyLeague. Your role is critical to maintaining the integrity, professionalism, and enjoyment of every match. This page provides essential information and resources to help you officiate effectively.
Core Principles of Refereeing
Impartiality
Remain neutral and unbiased at all times. Personal opinions, team preferences, or external pressures must never influence your decisions.
Integrity
Make all decisions based on the rules and evidence provided. Every call must be supportable with clips or clear observation.
Professionalism
Maintain respectful conduct throughout the match. Treat all participants with dignity and communicate clearly and professionally.
What Referees Do
Referees are responsible for enforcing league rules, maintaining match flow, and ensuring fair play for all participants. Your decisions directly impact the competitive integrity of TackyLeague.
Staying Unbiased
Critical Requirement
Impartiality is non-negotiable. Your reputation and the league’s integrity depend on your ability to remain completely neutral.
- Make decisions based solely on rules and match events, not personal relationships or team preferences
- You cannot officiate matches involving your own team or any team where you have a clear conflict of interest
- Do not allow external pressures (team complaints, spectator reactions, admin preferences) to influence your calls
- Treat all participants equally regardless of team reputation, past behavior, or league standings
- All decisions must be evidence-based and supportable with clips or clear observation
